To create this HARMONY, human voices of various ranges are used. Based on the vocal range, the singers in a choir are classified from the lowest range, as, Bass, Baritone and Tenor in the male voice and Contralto(Alto), Mezzo Soprano and Soprano in the female voice, again starting from the lowest range of voice.

The one Artist who weaves the various voice ranges in the choral group to create that distinguished character called HARMONY is, the CONDUCTOR. The Conductor is, so to say, the very Soul of a choral group as all the singers in the choral group look to the Conductor for cue to play their respective parts in the creation of HARMONY.
